I was never really into sports or athletics growing up. I walked a lot to get around but that was the extent of it. Always the last to be picked for teams and not mad about it. When I got into adulthood I was searching for something to keep me fit. I tried all of the things, gyms, recorded workouts, running, Pilates, etc. It wasn’t until I found yoga that I found something that truly stuck. I found myself craving it more and more. My mat was someplace I could always turn to, and it would help me to move through life with more grace. I noticed how not only did it help me physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I knew that it was a different sort of practice and I wanted to share it with the people I love. I took my 200 hr training in 2015 and have been teaching ever since while still remaining a dedicated student. It has been such a joy for me to see the magic of yoga work through my life and to others.
In 2017 I moved to Mountlake Terrace from Colorado. My son and girlfriend had my grandson on the way and had just ripped my daughter out of high school to move here. At this point, she was not interested in yoga but wanted to work out. That’s when I found Paramount. I thought they would benefit from a yoga program and we could work out together. I’ve been hooked ever since. It was hard for me, not knowing the movements or the lingo, but I was eager to learn. Like I said before I was never really athletic but found compassion from the coaches and community. In turn, I was able to give more of that to myself. Everyone is so supportive and wants nothing but health for you here. That’s the magic of Paramount. They show you the strength you don’t even know you have. I’m so happy to be a part of that team to share the love and compassion and inner strength it takes to do the work. We show up, we work hard, we sweat, and we get stronger as a team every day with support.
I love helping people find their best selves. Unraveling the layers of pressure to truly learn about themselves. I want to share the tools and techniques I have learned to help my students move through life with grace and presence.
